Editor who reviewed the partial submission for Casey V had this to say:  "I enjoyed THE CHRONICLES OF CASEY V. The first person viewpoint is fresh and interesting, and Casey has a unique voice. You definitely have the teen voice down and have developed a likeable main character. It's a fun read, with lots of humor, & the story has teen-appeal."

I entered the first 35 pages of Casey V in a contest for Chick Lit, called Get Your Stiletto in the Door contest.  I'm THRILLED to say that Casey V has placed as a finalist in their Young Adult Division! 

The first round judges loved it!!  Out of a perfect score of 135, one judge rated it a 134 and one judge rated it a 133!!  (I'm on cloud nine...)

• OK, GOTTA TELL YOU--I LOVE THIS VOICE SO FAR. I’M DRAWN RIGHT IN AND WANT TO BE INSIDE THIS GIRL’S HEAD. SHE SOUNDS JUST LIKE MY 16-YEAR-OLD STEP-SISTER
• I LOVE THE WAY YOU’VE SET THIS UP--SO THAT WE, THE READER, GET IN ON ALL THIS “INSIDER” INFO VIA CASEY’S JOURNAL. VERY CLEVERLY AND SEAMLESSLY DONE.
• I’M INTRIGUED AND WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WHO SHE IS, WHY SHE’S HERE AND WHY SHE’S SO ODD. (regarding a secondary character...)
• Casey is charming and direct.  The reader is immediately rooting for her.
• Very effective use of internal dialogue, dialogue, emails, etc.  Your writing style is fresh and unique, and pulls the reader into the story.   Also, your descriptions are very vivid
• I really don’t see much room for improvement.

• This is very polished manuscript, and a clever story idea.  I expect to see it on bookstore shelves soon.  Good luck!

  Now the manuscript goes winging off to two prestigious finalist judges -- an editor at Berkeley publishing, and an agent representing Young Adult!  Keep your fingers crossed for great news!!
