Casey V

Long
and Short Reviews gave this fabulous review of Casey V (5 books):
In my view, this is the ideal young adult romance; it’s
a time when love should
be
woozy and breathless for everybody. It’s also remarkably contemporary, with a
very real, ‘today’ sort of sense.
...
It’s also simply fun; the summer at camp brings a certain sense of escapism, as
well as sharing all the fun activities. It’s a light and effervescent tale and
Larsen manages to maintain this bouncy style/atmosphere throughout...
I'm really thrilled with this one: Nights and Weekends Reviews had this to say about Casey V:
Highlights: "I started reading The Chronicles of Casey V. (Or Mental Ramblings of the Most Awesome Summer of My Life) at 8:00 PM, and I finished it at around midnight. I simply couldn’t stop reading this short, amusing young adult novel until I’d turned the last page. ... Oh, what fun it was to be transported back to the age of sixteen! ... As I read, I laughed out loud so many times that my cats gave me the wonky eye for disturbing their sleep. ... With its laugh-out-loud hilarious moments, The Chronicles of Casey V. is a delight to read from page one. I loved how this teen character handles the minor disasters that come her way. She also learns some valuable leadership and life skills—and she does it all while still remaining realistic as a teen. ... If you read just one young adult novel this year, please make it The Chronicles of Casey V.. It’s one of the cutest young adult romances that you’re likely to encounter. And if you’re a bit older, like me, it’ll remind you of the fun and exhilaration of your own teen romances."

My first professional review for Casey V! And it's good!
Night Owl Romance gave me 4.5 out of 5!
Highlights: "... the perfect story for young adults to read to see that everyone goes through embarrassing moments or even stages in their lives and your true friends are the ones always standing beside you through it all. Ms. Larsen is a talented author who knows how to be funny and entertaining while being true in her writing. She molded her characters to be everyday kids of different ages and she makes you feel, as you’re reading it, that you personally know all these individuals firsthand. I loved the voice she set in her writing and overall I just thoroughly enjoyed this story. I feel that this is a story that everyone can relate to one time or another in their own lives. Though it’s geared toward young adults, I had so much fun reading it for this review. I would definitely recommend it to young adults and adults alike. Well done, Ms. Larsen!" Here's the full review.
Editor who reviewed the partial submission for Casey V had this to say: "I enjoyed THE CHRONICLES OF CASEY V. The first person viewpoint is fresh and interesting, and Casey has a unique voice. You definitely have the teen voice down and have developed a likeable main character. It's a fun read, with lots of humor, & the story has teen-appeal."
I entered the first 35 pages of Casey V in a contest for Chick Lit, called Get Your Stiletto in the Door contest. I'm THRILLED to say that Casey V has placed as a finalist in their Young Adult Division!
The first round judges loved it!! Out of a perfect score of 135, one judge rated it a 134 and one judge rated it a 133!! (I'm on cloud nine...)
Here are some verbatim comments from the judges:
This is very polished manuscript, and a clever story idea. I expect to see it on bookstore shelves soon. Good luck!
Now the
manuscript goes winging off to two prestigious finalist judges -- an editor at
Berkeley publishing, and an agent representing Young Adult! Keep your
fingers crossed for great news!!
