The WNET affiliate chapter
G.R.O.W. (Growth and Resource Opportunities for Women) recently
welcomed State Farm employee and published author Laurie Larsen
for a conversation and book signing at the Glen Mills Annex. As
a full time employee, wife, and mother, Laurie, who works in
Corporate, has had two works published: Whispers of the
Heart and Momentary Lapse and is currently
looking to publish a third.
Laurie offered these
suggestions for maintaining a healthy Work/Life balance: set
priorities (evaluate each new request), play to your strengths
(do a good job at your career), stick to it (nothing happens
overnight), be flexible (willing to shift priorities as needed),
face reality (be ok with rejection), and celebrate along the way
(small achievements matter). She also answered questions about
her writing career and signed copies of her latest novel.
