Lori Paris, author of Follow Your Heart
Paso Robles, California (4/21/2004)
| Laurie Larsen has penned a wonderful novel that is about love lost, and love found. Whispers of the Heart, is the story of Cass, a woman who has it all, only to lose the love of her life to a devastating disease. It is only from her own inner courage and strength, along with the help of her loving family, that Cass is able to withstand the cruel fate of being widowed. The healing process takes an interesting twist when she becomes friends with Trevor, a long distance friend. Their friendship deepens as time goes on, and Cass must ask herself if she is ready to open her heart to another man. Whispers of the Heart is about relationships, and it is about making choices. Larsen writes such believable prose, that the reader experiences what Cass experiences, and we can’t wait to find out what she decides, for it will truly change her life. I highly recommend this heartwarming novel. |

| At
28, successful computer consultant Cassandra Sloan has already
experienced a great love and a wonderful marriage. When her husband
Danny dies of cancer, she knows she must go on living.
Cass meets a friend of the family and future doctor, Trevor McMillan, over the phone. For weeks, their friendship grows, but neither expects anything more than good conversation. The last thing Cass wants is a new love, and with his career ahead of him, Trevor feels there is no room in his life for romance. But it isn't long before they develop deeper feelings toward each other. Unfortunately, things aren't that simple. Trevor has a job waiting for him in Mexico and Cass is climbing the corporate ladder in Denver. Furthermore, she feels guilty about falling in love so soon after Danny's death. Laurie Larsen's novel is a sweet romance between two compassionate, intelligent, deserving people. The fact that Trevor and Cass come to love each other before they meet fact-to-face reassures us that romance is not all about physical attraction. From beginning to end, this one will make you feel good. (Published by same reviewer in Romantic Times magazine, 6/2001 issue with 3 stars) Readers' reviews on Amazon.com:
