What Happens Next?

As I sit here at my computer, writing this message to you, dear readers, my heart is full of excitement and gratitude.

I shared in my very first The Year I Read the Bible blog (April of 2024) that I had been feeling at a crossroads in my writing career. I’ve written Christian fiction over the last decade-plus because I wanted to use my God-given skills of writing to create stories that glorify him. After over twenty books in the same genre, I was feeling like I didn’t have any more “love stories with a faith journey” knocking on the door of my brain.

I didn’t know what to do next.  Was I done?

But then God worked with me to introduce this wonderful opportunity! A year of reading the Bible while jotting down topics I wanted to research.  Another year of researching and learning and sharing my findings through written blogs and recorded videos.  Trying to spread God’s word however I could to whoever would listen.

In April I published a book containing all the blogs I've been sharing with you for the last year! The publication of this book is a big milestone in the project God planted in my imagination. If you are reading this book, I thank you and assure you that you were a vital part of God’s plan from Day One!

But it doesn’t stop here!  I’m excited to let you know what’s next for me and The Year I Read the Bible project – and maybe you’ll continue to join me along the way! Since I'll no longer be posting new Bible blogs, the best place to keep up with all the exciting news is through a monthly newsletter keeping you informed. Click the button below to subscribe.

If you enjoy watching videos, you can watch me read the blogs. On my video channel, you can Like and Comment and share: Laurie Larsen - YouTube

And coming soon! My next method of spreading God’s word is to start a podcast! That’s something brand new for me, and now that the blogs, the videos and the book are done, I can move on to creating the podcast!

I love listening to podcasts while I walk or drive; how about you? I hope that you’ll give this one a try.  Search for it where you listen to your podcasts. I don’t have a release date at this time but I’m hoping it will be up and running by June of 2025.

Your turn … I would love it if my Bible project inspired you to start your own!  Pick your favorite Bible translation, start regular reading and keep going, even when it gets hard!  Keep reading, jotting down your questions and topics you want to research. Looking up the answers and praying over understanding is where the real magic happens.

God wants us to learn more about him and it’s the time that we spend in his Word that we truly make a connection with him.

In closing, I want to thank everyone who’s supported me in this journey. I have listed people in some of the blogs who have provided me with specific knowledge or inspiration. But in general, I’d like to thank the Women in the Word at All Saints Church in Pawleys Island, South Carolina for providing me with an educational and inspirational Bible study program I attend every week!  Shout out to Small Group 6 for the wonderful friendships I’ve gained with my sisters in Christ and to our exceptional teachers Beth Sprinkle, Dina Clarke and Van Weston for their endless preparation and learning.

With love,

Laurie
